An industrial construction site in progress under multiple cranes.

EPCM stands for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management: a project delivery approach in which a single firm manages the engineering design, equipment and material procurement, and construction oversight of a project on the owner's behalf, while the owner retains contracts with individual construction contractors. ICPE provides full-service EPCM for mining, power, oil and gas, industrial, and electrical projects, guiding each project from early-stage design through construction and startup under one integrated, accountable team.

Unlike a traditional design-bid-build approach, where engineering, procurement, and construction are handled by separate parties with separate contracts, EPCM keeps all three functions coordinated by a single team that understands the project from day one. This reduces miscommunication between design and field execution, helps identify long-lead equipment early to protect the schedule, and gives owners a single point of accountability rather than managing multiple contracts and the associated coordination. For owners who want more oversight and cost control than a lump-sum EPC contract typically allows, without taking on the full burden of managing every contractor directly, EPCM offers a practical middle ground: professional project management and technical continuity, while the owner retains contracting authority and cost transparency throughout construction.
