ICPE was founded to bring specialized utility and industrial electrical engineering to the Intermountain West, a region then served mostly by out-of-state firms.

Open-end contracts with major mining, metals, and power clients turned ICPE into a standing engineering resource, with construction management scaling to greenfield facilities and hundreds of contractors.
