Electric Utilities
Utilities have been many of ICPE's core clients since 1979, and utility work remains at the heart of the firm: substations up to 345 kV, transmission and distribution lines, protection and control, and the studies that keep systems compliant and defensible.
Mining
ICPE has engineered for mines since the firm's first decade: gold, copper, and industrial minerals, open pit and underground, from exploration-stage power studies to crushing, conveyance, and process plant infrastructure at some of the largest operations in the West and international locations.
Mineral Processing
Between the pit and the product sits the plant, and the plant is where recovery is won or lost. ICPE engineers processing facilities from flowsheet through startup: crushing and grinding circuits, flotation and leach systems, thickening, and the materials handling that ties it together.
Metals
ICPE's metals experience spans smelters, refineries, foundries, and specialty metal plants, including some of the largest titanium and steel projects built in the West. Furnace power systems, casting lines, and the severe-duty infrastructure around them are familiar ground.
Oil and Gas
ICPE supports refining, gas processing, and compression facilities across the region: electrical distribution and hazardous area work, process and piping engineering, controls, and the high-tempo engineering that turnarounds demand.
Municipal Power Systems
ICPE has served city power systems across Utah and the Intermountain West for decades, often as the standing engineer behind a lean city crew. ICPE designs the substations and feeders, plans the growth, and stand in front of the council when the numbers need explaining.
Power Cooperatives
Cooperatives cover the hardest miles in the power business: long feeders, low density, and weather that tests every span. ICPE has worked alongside Intermountain cooperatives for decades, engineering lines, substations, and system plans that respect both the terrain and the member's bill.
Power Generation
ICPE's generation résumé runs from utility powerhouses to industrial cogeneration: gas turbines, steam cycles, and the balance-of-plant systems that decide whether a facility hits its availability numbers.
Energy Storage
Storage has moved from pilot to portfolio, and utilities, districts, and industrial operators are all being offered projects that arrive as vendor packages. ICPE provides the owner-side engineering that makes those projects real: siting, interconnection, protection, and integration with the system around them.
Bulk Material Handling
Moving rock, ore, and product is its own engineering discipline, and it has been part of ICPE's work since the beginning: conveyors and transfer points, crushing and screening plants, stockpiles and reclaim, and the truck and rail loadouts where material leaves the property.
